Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026. This policy explains how Seren Inc. (Seyante is a brand of Seren Inc.), 10776 Rose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90034, United States ("Seren", "SEYANTE", "we", "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit seyante.com (the "Site"), buy from us or contact us. We are the business responsible for this information. Our privacy contact is info@seyante.com.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not collect health, biometric, precise geolocation or similar sensitive data. The only information we hold that some US state laws treat as "sensitive" is your account sign-in credentials, which we use only to give you access to your account and to keep it secure.

2. Why we use it and on what basis

  • To fulfil your order: process payment, ship the products, handle returns and refunds, send order and shipping e-mails, prevent fraud, and keep the records the law requires (performance of our contract with you; legal obligations).
  • To run and improve the Site: security, troubleshooting, analytics about how the Site is used (our legitimate business purposes; consent where the law requires it for cookies and similar technologies).
  • To market to you: newsletters, offers, reminders about items left in your cart, and personalised advertising on other platforms (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, or an existing customer relationship where the law allows).
  • To answer you when you contact us, and to manage reviews you post. Reviews are public: your review and the display name you choose are shown on the Site.

If we offer you a benefit (for example a discount code) for joining our newsletter, that offer is described at sign-up. We consider the value of your e-mail address to us to be equal to the value of the benefit. Joining is optional, and you can unsubscribe at any time and keep any benefit already received.

We make no decision about you based solely on automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies (cart, checkout, security, your consent choice) always run. Analytics and advertising technologies (for example Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and comparable tools) are switched off by default and run only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising, and advertising technologies stay off in that browser. See also Section 6.

4. Who we share information with

  • Service providers that work for us: our e-commerce platform and hosting provider (CIQRA OÜ, hosted on Microsoft Azure in Germany), payment processing (Stripe), shipping and label services (Shippo, DHL Express, UPS and other carriers), e-mail and text-message delivery providers, customer-support and returns tools, cookie-consent management, and analytics and advertising platforms (Google, Meta and comparable providers) where you have consented. They may use your information only to provide their services to us, except advertising platforms, which act under their own privacy policies for the advertising they show you.
  • Carriers and customs authorities for deliveries, including the Canada Border Services Agency and DHL Express for Canadian orders.
  • Professional advisers, courts and authorities where the law requires or to protect our rights.
  • A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganised, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising cookies and pixels, when you accept them, may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under some US state laws; Section 6 explains how to opt out. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes (California Civil Code § 1798.83).

5. Where your information is kept and international transfers

Our Site and order records are hosted in the European Union (Germany). Our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. If you live in Canada, your personal information may therefore be stored and accessed outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union, where it is subject to the laws of those places and may be accessed by their courts and authorities.

6. United States residents: your privacy rights

Depending on your state (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and others with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use and share about you and get a copy of it; correct it; delete it; opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The categories we collect, their sources, purposes and recipients are listed in Sections 1, 2 and 4, and how long we keep each category in Section 9. In the past 12 months, where you accepted advertising cookies, identifiers and device and usage information were made available to advertising and analytics partners (Google, Meta and comparable providers); this may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or a "sale", under California and other state laws. We have not sold personal information for money.

Some of these laws apply only to businesses above a size threshold (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act, annual revenue above about USD 26.6 million, adjusted for inflation, or personal information of 100,000 or more California consumers or households a year). SEYANTE may be below these thresholds. We offer the rights in this section to every US customer voluntarily, whether or not the law of your state requires it.

  • To exercise a right: e-mail info@seyante.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We verify your request by confirming control of the e-mail address on your account or order. An authorised agent must provide your written permission. We respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days where permitted) and tell you if we need more time.
  • To opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising: use the "Cookie settings" link on the Site or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser; no verification is needed.
  • Appeals: if we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision; we answer within 45 days. You may also contact your state Attorney General or, in California, the California Privacy Protection Agency.
  • We use sensitive personal information (your account credentials) only for the purposes the law permits without offering a right to limit, namely providing and securing your account. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, but we honour the Global Privacy Control signal.

7. Canada residents

  • We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the provincial privacy laws that apply to us. We collect personal information with your consent for the purposes stated in Section 2, request consent separately for marketing and non-essential cookies, and do not make a purchase conditional on a consent that is not needed for it. We have designated an individual accountable for our compliance with PIPEDA, reachable at info@seyante.com (subject "Privacy, Canada").
  • Your rights: you may ask to access or correct your personal information, withdraw your consent (subject to legal and contractual limits) and ask what we hold about you and how we use it. We respond in writing within 30 days. Access is free except for reasonable transcription or transmission costs, which we tell you in advance. Write to info@seyante.com (subject "Privacy, Canada").
  • Outside Canada: your information may be stored and accessed outside Canada, by the service providers and in the places described in Sections 4 and 5.
  • Breaches of security safeguards: we keep a record of every breach of security safeguards and notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the persons concerned where a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, as PIPEDA requires.
  • Complaints: write to us first. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or to the privacy commissioner of your province.
  • A French version of this policy is published on the Site.

8. Marketing messages and your choices

We send marketing e-mails only with your consent or, where the law allows, because you bought from us (in Canada, for up to 2 years after your last purchase), and marketing text messages only with your prior express written consent, which is never a condition of buying. Every message has an unsubscribe link or a STOP instruction, and you may also opt out by any other reasonable means, such as replying to tell us; we act on it without delay and within 10 business days. Our messages identify SEYANTE and give our postal address (Section 11) and a way to contact us, as the CAN-SPAM Act and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation require.

9. How long we keep information

  • Order, invoice and payment records: as long as the law requires us to keep accounting and tax records (generally 7 years), then deleted.
  • Account and customer data: while your account is active and for up to 2 years after your last order, unless you ask us to delete it earlier (we keep what the law requires).
  • Marketing consents and unsubscribes: while the consent is valid; a record of your unsubscribe is kept so that it is honoured.
  • Device and usage data: up to 400 days; cookie lifetimes are stated in the cookie banner.
  • Support messages: up to 2 years after the case is closed.

10. Security

Our platform protects your information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and monitoring, and card payments are processed by Stripe under PCI DSS; full card numbers never reach us. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects your information we notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
